What We Do
The Korean Society of Nuclear Medicine (KSNM) is a scientific and professional organization founded in 1961. The business of KSNM includes holding academic meetings, publication of journals and books, planning and research of promoting science and health, training and qualification of NM specialists. There are 360 NM specialists, 140 PET/CT and 290 SPECT cameras in Korea. The official journal of KSNM is ‘Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (NMMI)’ published from 1967 and is now being published 6 times a year by Springer. KSNM hosted Asia Oceania Congress of Nuclear Medicine and (1984, 2015) and World Congress of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (2006). KSNM is actively participating and collaborating with SNMMI. Korea is ranking within the top 4 in the world, in terms of number of presentations at the Annual Meeting of SNMMI. Moreover, KSNM has been hosting ‘Korea Night’ during the Annual Meeting of SNMMI every year since 2003. In 2016, KSNM and SNMMI have agreed on a Memorandum of Understanding to promote academic collaboration and to expand partnership between two societies.
